600 Bottles of Wine is a comic feast of female friendship, sex and wine…much, much wine 🍷 It is also a groundbreaking feat of the creators.
Not only has 600 Bottles of Wine broken the mould in terms of what is achievable for an independently funded series but it has also broken the mould in terms of format. The series has been sold as both a 8 x 9’ web-series and 4 x18’ TV series. The series has defied the short-form vs long-form distinction and straddles both. Hence season one only having four episodes.
600 Bottles of Wine is a ‘trans media’ story that was produced off the back of a successful blog and exists in multiple formats across different broadcast platforms. In 2018 it has achieved international broadcast across traditional linear channels and their associated digital channels on:
UK (BBC Three and BBC Iplayer)
Australia (Network Ten- Eleven and TenPlay)
New Zealand (TVNZ OnDemand)
It has received high critical acclaim in the UK, being billed as one of the emerging female comedies by the new generation of Australian film talent.
This week I sat down with these 3 amazing, creative and hilarious ladies who are the writers, producers, directors and actors of the very funny 600 Bottles of Wine.
